Angie In The Morning

Weekdays 6M-10AM

Where to begin? First of all, hi (reaching out to shake your imaginary hand) my name is Angie Thomas (though originally born to parents Mary and Steve as Angela Marie Peters) and I am a Canton NY native!

I am a 1997 Graduate of Hugh C. Williams in Canton where I was a Music, and Social Studies major. I fell in love with performing at a young age and found my niche in high school as a singer and an actor. As a result I spent 3 years at SUNY Plattsburgh as a musical theatre major (with every intention of heading to NYC to pursue a life on the stage) before transferring to SUNY Potsdam to finish my Bachelor’s Degree in Drama.

After starting my family (which now consists of my 4 kids: 20 year old Devin, 17 year old Seth, 14 year old Ryan, and 11 year old Rachel) I decided to pursue my Master’s of Science in Teaching with a focus on Secondary English Education (i.e. – I was trained to be a Jr. High and High School English teacher)

Thanks to my heavy background in public speaking and performance (and my outspoken/quirky personality) I landed my first radio gig as afternoon drive host when the WSNN & WPDM studios were on out on Route 11 and we were known as 99 Hits FM. I rounded out 5 years in radio with the last 3.5 of them spent as morning show co-host and news director for Q Country 102.9, 96.7 YES FM, and Super Hits PAC 98.7.

In search of greener pastures, I ended up taking an 8 year hiatus from radio where I bounced from working at the county courthouse to spending the last 5 years in the bridal industry. The whole time I was out of the radio industry I always maintained my ties by recording writing and recording commercials and hoping that, someday, I might return to a career in radio.

I am thrilled to return to my roots here at WPDM as your afternoon drive host and to play the country music I grew up with! Join me every weekday from 3 to 7 for The Angie Thomas Show: 4 hours chock full of country hits from 1983 - 2007 along with artist info & tour updates, local community events, lifestyle news, and much more all wrapped up in a quirky little Angie Thomas style bow!

Sky McCloud

Weekdays 3PM-7PM

I was born in Watertown and grew up on the family farm in Lisbon, NY where I attended Lisbon Central School.  After graduating from there, I went to SUNY Potsdam where I received my degree in Communications. I went to work at radio stations in Malone for 10 years then left to pursue other avenues in my life, but fate had a roundabout way to bring me back to my passion for radio.  So here I am back working near my original starting point.

Some of my other passions or favorite activities include watching TV like The Walking Dead, Bones, Forever, Gotham, The Flash, New Girl, and more.  I’m also a movie geek enjoying films like Star Wars, Star Trek, Clue, Better Off Dead, classics from Mel Brooks, Steve Martin, John Candy, and many, many more.  I also enjoy down time playing video games on X-Box.13

Aside from all that I spend time with my 2 children (11 year old girl, and 13 year old boy), and my parents when I get the time.
